Rotary Fun Fiesta: Entertainment with a Purpose in Mumbai

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup hosted their first ever “Rotary Fun Fiesta” from December 15th to 17th in Bhandup, Mumbai. This event wasn’t just about entertainment; it was a platform to connect families, raise awareness for the club’s social initiatives, and generate funds for their valuable work.

Beyond the fun and games, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup is dedicated to supporting the underprivileged through various projects:

• Cataract Free Bhandup: Over 350 free cataract surgeries have been performed by the club.
• Paediatric Heart Surgeries: Providing critical heart surgeries for children in need.
• Tailoring Training with Job Guarantee: Equipping individuals with skills and employment opportunities.
• Pink Auto Project: Empowering women by training them to drive and providing them with subsidized auto rickshaws.
• Education Loans: Helping students pursue their education without financial constraints.

The Rotary Fun Fiesta featured a vibrant lineup, attracting many celebrities and local talents:

• Musical performances: Singer Sanjeevani Bhelande and Mumbai Karaoke Club entertained the audience.
• Comedy Night: Comedian Ahsaan Qureshi had everyone laughing.
• Fashion Show: Dr. Chatursing Khalsa’s Zen Asia Foundation showcased stunning designs by Seema Kshirsagar.
• Play-back Theatre: Divya Doshi and team delivered a captivating performance.

But the highlight of the event was the creation of a 33-foot tall Cardboard Christmas Tree, a collaboration between the Rotary Club, CrossAsyst Infotech Pvt Ltd, and Ms. Rajool Sanjay Patil. This record-breaking feat, surpassing the previous 20-foot record in London, brought immense pride to Mumbai and Bhandup.

Club President Rtn. Jennifer Isaac emphasized that the Fun Fiesta aimed to raise awareness and support for their social initiatives while creating a fun and memorable experience for the community. The overwhelming success of this event has inspired the club to organize more such events in the future.
