Kangana Ranaut is a celebrated actress in the film industry. She has been part of some amazing films and played some incredible characters. Madhur Bhandarkar, the director of Fashion in a recent interview spoke about Ranaut’s character in the film.
While speaking with India.com, Madhur Bhandarkar opened up on one of the scenes of Kangana in ‘Fashion’ which even went viral as a meme. In the scene, Shonali is smoking in the washroom and Anisha Roy goes to her and says that people are waiting to meet her. Shonali reacts in an interesting way and expresses that she does not give a damn about rules and who is waiting for her and leaves the room. That reaction of Kangana went viral and many memes were made about it.

The director while elaborating on the scene said, “I remember that scene. We were shooting with Kittu Gidwani (Anisha Roy in the film) and she tells Shonali that people are waiting for her. But, she comes out and does her own thing. I had asked her to do something funny on her own. I said ‘you come out and you simply just shush her away.’ She did it so well. She actually did it on the spot itself. That’s her improvising. She did a fabulous job with it. I know that scene has become a meme and it’s very famous now. It was all her.”
Fashion made her win her first National Award for Best Actress (in a supporting role). This was a 2008 film, which starred Priyanka Chopra in the lead and tells the story and bitter truth of the modelling world.
Talking about the 35-year-old actress’s work front she is currently busy filming her directorial film ‘Emergency’ based on the socio-political situation between 1975-1977. She plays our former prime minister and Iron Lady of India Indira Gandhi. Apart from Emergency, she has ‘Tejas’ in her kitty.
